“H2OPE: Water to People Everywhere” is the culmination of research with 22 Indian and Indonesian organizations throughout 12 different cities. Filmed in locations including the Thar Desert, the most densely populated desert in the world, and in Muntigunung, Bali, a drought- stricken area on the slopes of Bali’s largest volcano, this film shares grassroots solutions that provide access to water for some of South and Southeast Asia’s most marginalized communities, and informs the global community how each of us can get involved. As Doctor Prakash Tyagi, director of Gravis, stresses: “The planet is a family and the problems are bound to come to all of us in turns. Therefore, we need to act as global citizens, and not be confined to our own homes.”

The release of“H2OPE: Water to People Everywhere” helps these and similar organizations by accenting their successes gathering clean drinking water and sharing it with the world. The promotion of“H2OPE: Water to People Everywhere” and its educational programming is essential to the awareness of these techniques in India, Indonesia, and all communities with a lack of access to water. Additionally, these free educational kits can be used by educators worldwide and in Canada linking this film to relevant Canadian and IB curricula requirements.
