The recent national executive of the BJP has been a disappointing of sorts. Again the national leaders of the party from Delhi have failed to drive home advantage of total chaos in the UPA camp by failing to create / start an alternate narrative. The biggest disappointment came from the tallest leader of the party L.K.Advani.

The Patriarch who created the BJP as an alternate to congress with his famous Rath Yatraa has now fallen to the trap of left lib secularism narrative. This at a time when the state of Gujarat and Narendra Modi are all set to come back again for the 3rd consecutive time since the 2002 riots without appeasing anyone, let alone the minorities. Even the other states where BJP has done really well and in all probabilities will be voted back to power whenever they go for polls like MP and Chattisgarh have been good examples of developmental driven governance than on the minority appeasement vote banks. It certainly is shocking to see the tallest leader asking the party and cadres to go the secular way. The party with a difference has now been asked to tread the same path that left lib parties like congress and others tow. This is disgusting to say the least and also cheating the 20%+ voters who have been voting for the party for the last two decades.

Also find it strange that LKA calls for expanding the NDA to NDA Plus. Really can’t understand the logic behind such a call from the man who could never get all constituents of the NDA to agree on any major issues in the last 8 years. The presidential elections saw the biggest divide for the second time when Shiv Sena and JDU voted for the congress candidate. Post 2004 NDA has been a non entity and the constituents played to their own regional interests than a common national interest. Which proves a point that unless BJP comes with a strong performance and better numbers individually the NDA has no relevance what so ever. The NDA’s regional outfits have limited appeal outside their states and have always ensured that their ideology is in the forefront and BJP remains a secondary player.

Its ironical that the NDA convener Sharad Yadav of JDU says that BJP is a good ally and a liability in Bihar/NDA as a whole and we have LKA asking the BJP party men to work for a NDA plus alliance. On one hand the party and its cadres are enthused by the dynamic and progressive leadership of NaMo and on the other hand LKA talks about secularism and NDA plus. Coalitions have always been opportunistic with no ideological or common agenda. The coalitions have depended on the man at the helm when in power and never in opposition. A coalition in power is always driven by who has the biggest numbers and the person at the helm. That’s why though MMS has the numbers , thanks to psuedo secular parties he couldnt give good governance like ABV did as he has no political capital per say and always acted loyal to the 10J residents. I fail to understand how LKA is unable to see this reality or is it his unfulfilled ambition that makes him comes out with such disappointing ideas.
