Opulent bed brand, Hästens, have joined forces with Klûk CGDT to produce the curtain-raiser at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Cape Town, only weeks after announcing their business partnership with Taj Cape Town.
“Africa’s fashion industry continues to grow and Klûk CGDT stands out as one of the iconic brands of our continent. With many parallels – both brands synonymous with luxury and style – the alliance was only natural when we made the decision to get involved in fashion week,” say Mashuda Casmod, Manager of Hästens South Africa.
No strangers to the runway and fashion week, Malcolm Klûk and Christiaan Gabriel du Toit often set the tone for the hottest trends, no matter the season. The talented duo is renowned for their high-end style. Their collaboration with Hästens South Africa, however, will certainly add a new dimension to their latest collection. “This has been a phenomenal project and easy partnership due to the great synergy between the brands. Our clients can expect a combination of glamorous style with a 50’s gingham flair,” explains Christiaan Gabriel du Toit, Designer, and co-owner of Klûk CGDT.
Fittingly themed, “Bedtime Stories”, the show will encompass romanticised elements of popular fairytales, adding a further sense of allure to the already cutting edge world of fashion. Klûk CGDT will showcase 50 masterpieces, with the showstopper being modeled by the fashion world’s latest sensation, Katryn Kruger. At the age of 17, South African-born Kruger has already graced the catwalk for Chloé, Prada, Valli, Max Azria, Herve Leger, Elie Saab, as well as to open and close the Valentino show during the Fashion Week 2012.
The show will be opened by the Chairperson of African Fashion International, Dr. Precious Moloi-Motsepe and Cape Town Mayor, Alderman Patricia de Lille, at Cape Town’s City Hall on Wednesday, July 25th.
