Bahrain Government – the right to be human?

Director & Founder of the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy, a Berlin-based NGO (www.culturaldiplomacy.org) dealing with cultural diplomacy, intercultural dialogue and human rights.

The Kingdom of Bahrain’s human rights record is well known, adversely. People who have spoken out against human rights violations have been arrested, tortured, threatened etc., Today based on media reports another human rights campaigner, Nabeel Rajab, has been arrested, is being held in jail pending trial.  How long can the rest of the world stand by and do nothing. We, respectfully call for the human rights of Bahraini citizens to be reviewed and bought into sync with the UN Convention on Human Rights. To stand by and do nothing, is to acquiesce.

A pettion has been floated for human rights named Bahrain: right to be human.
