Iranian blogger Hossein Ronaghi Maleki goes on Hunger Stirke

There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it-always. Mahatma Gandhi

Tehran: Imprisoned Iranian Blogger Hossein Ronaghi Maleki, who is suffering from kidney disease, has gone on a hunger strike.  According to his latest CT scan, one of his kidney is non functional and the other kidney is in need of surgery.

A group of activist on twitter are planning a tweet storm on Monday, May 28th and asking everyone to join and help Mr. Ronaghi Maleki get the medical help that he needs.  Ronaghi Maleki is being injected everyday with pain killers and morphine in order to control the pain he is enduring, which in turn has caused him to have a gallbladder. The activists hope that if enough international attention is brought to Ronaghi Maleki’s case, the government of Iran will give him the medical attention that he needs.

Hossein Ronaghi Maleki is a blogger and a human rights activist who blogged under the name “Babak Khorramdin.” Ronaghi Maleki was arrested for his role in disseminating anti-blocking software for internet users in Iran. He spent ten months in solitary confinement inside IRGC’s Ward 2-A at Evin Prison, and was eventually sentenced to 15 years in prison on charges of “membership in the Iran Proxy internet group,” “propagating against the regime,” “insulting the Supreme Leader,” and “insulting the President.”
